Does anyone know if these two bullets can be loaded to same oal and still have the same distance to the lands? My guess is no. But a buddy is wanting to switch to the ctbt bullets cuz they look better loaded in nickle cases.

Well in my experience I have swapped back and forth with no issues

For all practical purposes, you can treat them as identical. Ultimately, the only sure way to know this is to verify by working up a load in the one you haven't previously worked up. However, I would suspect that you will find they shoot to virtually identical POI, deliver essentially identical velocities and kill with equal authority.

Thanks guys. My resoponse to him was elk don't care what the cartridge looks like. But he is correct that black coated bullet does look pretty slick loaded in a nickle case

It does look attractive. I use a 140 grain CT BT in a nickle case for my .280. If it never killed anything, it sure looks purty!
