I HAVE A????? HOW WOULD SLOW BURNERS LIKE IMR4350,H4350 OR ALIKE WOULD PERFORM ON THE SHORT BARRELED REM7 :?:
SOMEONE WITH EXPERIENCE WITH SHORT BARRELED RIFLES :?: :?:

CZ,

Slow burning powders in a short barrel will give you lower velocities and lots of muzzel flash.

Powders that give the best velocity in a long barrel will give the best in a short one, normally. I`ve burnt a lot of IMR4350 with 139/140 gr bullets in both a 20" M7 and a 24" M700. Along with R19 I get good vel + acceptable accuracy in both, depending on bullet and rifle.
I do prefer Varget though, and seem to get the same velocity range, plus better accuracy..... JMO

Well, Speer proved a long time ago that the powders that give the best velocity in a long barrel will also give the best velocity in a short barrel. They did a LOT of tests that prove that what works, works, period!

I have a 22 inch barrel on my 7-08 and H 4350 is the best powder I have tried. Varget is a close second.

I like both Varget and RL-15 in my 7mm-08.

Varget tends to get the nod as I use it in most everything.

I get good accuracy with both, however, so it's all in what you like.

I load Varget with 140 grain bullet. Shoots great out of my Remington 700 LVSF in the '08....Usually a clover leaf if I do my part....
