Well, I was also able to get the 7WSM finished up as well. I had a tough time deciding between 66.5 and 67gr's of RL22 in the 7. I am shooting the 160gr AB, with WW cases, CCI250's and seating to 2.955". The rifle is really clicking. This is about the 70-80th shots (approx) down the pipe. It has really shot well from the get go. Still needs a trigger job, but I will get to it eventually. Just wanted a good load made up for elk this year, in case my buddy needs an alternate.
Here is the 66.5gr load, it ran about 3080 and would have been a better group I believe, but I pulled one out a touch. The trigger is a bit heavy, but it does work, so I counted it.
The 67gr load really runs nicely.
I think that is about as good as I can do with the trigger as is, but this load average 3130 with the 160's and made a nice 2-2.5" group at 300 yards as well. I think I am about done. This rifle is box stock, with nothing but a crummy trigger job I did on it. I think a good smith could make it like my 270WSM's and I could really do some damage.
For reference, here is a 160gr AB recovered from jugs.
I have to really say THANK YOU to Mike for helping with with this rifle a bunch and the 264WM a TON! Without his help, I would have never made it this far. He is really a breed of his own and the true character of all you on the boards. Mike (and a ton of you all) are always available to chat with and really run ideas past. Again, thank you to you all. Great guys on here I say! Scotty
