7x300?

I had a .308 Norma for several years. Never could get out of it what Ackley published without really bad pressure signs and a heavy bolt lift? Sold it and bought a .300 WSM, slower but way more accurate?

My Favorite .300 is still the .300 H&H, for accuracy and consistency, FWIW? My only .30 now is a Model 70, .30-06!

I find that some people think the 7RM and 300WM are the same case length. They aren't, the 300 is a bit longer.

I think the 7-300 is attractive for two reasons. First, it should let you get the heavy bullets comfortably over 3000 fps. And second, it is less overbore than the STW and should have a longer barrel life. I suppose one more reason... not many have it and my gunsmith is cranked up about building me one after chatting about it.
 
Different can be very interesting for the dedicated gun crank. Good display.
