just got a sporterized fn venezuelan mauser in 7x57 for an absolute steal. i already have 140 gr sierra pro hunters for my 7mm-08, and h4831sc, h4350, varget, and reloader 22 powders. primer would be a winchester large rifle as i have about 7500 of them. does anyone here have experience with this round and have any suggestions for loads? if the sierra won't work i think i would be trying the AccuBond next.

I have an FN Commercial Mauser from 1953 in 7X57mm and love it! Here are the loads that I have worked up to date. The best one uses the 139 grain Hornady Interlock Flat Base, it routinely shoots 3 shot groups at 100 yards, around 1/2". Hope this helps, and good luck!
-TB

IMR 4350 - 46.0 grains 2,700 FPS - 139 grain Hornady Interlock FB (.5" avg.)
RL 19 - 47.6 grains 2,700 FPS - 140 grain Sierra Gameking (1" avg.)
IMR 4350 - 47.5 grains - 140 grain Nosler Partition (1" avg.)

I have a 98K that I use 140 Serra pro hunter in whit 48gr IMR 4350 I think the COL was at 3.0" but I'd have to check, oh yeah I used R-P brass, and it shoots real well do not know the velocity.

thanks for the info guys. i do have some h4350, so i might try that. i am supprised that with all the poeple on this board that only two others load for a 7x57!

But the important part is that you got an answer for your question. I'm getting ready to do allot of playing with mine as soon as I get a new bolt handle and drill and tap the receiver and toss on a scope so I should have some good info for you in January or February if we get a break in weather. Got to love the Oregon winters!

I shoot
50gr H4350 with a 139 Hornady flat base
49gr H4350 with a Nosler 140 BT
46gr H4350 with a Nosler 150 BT or Hornady 154 flat base
Remington case
WLR primer
all shoot under an inch for 5 shots/100yards
The 130 BTSP Speer does ok
I have tried 120 grain bullets but have not done well with them

Have an old Mauser rifle,7x57 which I haven't loaded in quite some time. I used to load 44 grains of IMR 4064 powder with Speer 130 gr. spitzer bullet. This makes a nice deer round. Lately I've been loading for 7mm Mag. The 7x57 is fun to shoot.

Noslers Rock!
