a couple new ruger no.1's listed

I like Ruger #1s almost as much as Winchester model 70s. I could see myself buying that .257 if one happened into my hands. It has a 28" barrel and must surely have a lot of zing.

26" barrel is the longest I have seen on a #1

Never owned a Ruger #1, but that sorta set up appeals to me in a 257! Man, what a cool rifle.

Once you go number 1 you'll never go back!

That from a proud new Winchester owner! :p

I saw that 1-A in 7-08....I might just have to bite.

I also noticed they dropped the Red Label...again. Darnit!

Yeah, I am not too worried about that.. I don't see the Model 70's going anywhere.

All of the Number One listed on the Ruger site are Lipsey's Specials. None are listed that are for regular sale?

They've got the .257 Weatherby listed with a 28" barrel now...

With the very short "action" of the Number One, that would still be a very portable hunting rifle. And high velocity potential... Wow!

That is the way to go then!

The #1 is the Classiest "mass produced" rifle out there bar none in my opinion.

Would never sell my 264 Maggie

I have a few Ruger #1's in various configurations. I've always wondered, as the "B" model with 26" barrel is no longer than say a M70 Winchester with 22" barrel, how fast would a "B" shoot with 20" barrel? Wouldn't be any longer than my M70 .300 Win. Mag. with 26" barrel. Probably would be one heavy rifle. Interesting concept.

So... You could cut the barrel of your rifle to 20" and run the same loads across the chronograph to enlighten us...

Okay, I wouldn't do that either...

Just Kidding! Guy

Most of the ones I've seen haven't been anymore expensive than another rifle of the same build, etc.. Usually just a different chambering, different material used for the stock, etc.

They charge more for their number ones. Some other dealers even give us a few bucks off their number ones, Scotty. I have looked at their stuff in previous years and they were $50+ more than other dealers.
