I have a Ruger MKII and don't like the trigger. I would like to go after market so i can adjust it for hunting or shooting from the bench. I was wondering what kind of experience everyone has had and any suggestions. Thanks

You'll never go wrong with a Jewell; I've also had good luck with Basix.

I have a Timney on my RMR and I found it very crisp.
If I could though I think I would go Jewel or Shilen on my next rifle.

Blessings,
Dan

I have a Jewell in a custom Mauser 7RM and a Timney in a Weatherby Mark V .340 Mag. Both are good triggers the Jewell is better. I have used several other including Canjar and Dayton Triaster. It just depends on the design of the safety and trigger/sear mechanism as to how well they work. Most factory triggers except Japanese are pretty good now with no creep to speak of.

There is some extra material you need to remove a little at a time to fit the safety.
Super easy to do

Two of my rifles are built on VZ-24 actions, one has a Timney and the other has a Bold. These are just pure hunting rifles. I'm a pretty firm believer in the idea that you get what you pay for, but even the cheap Bold trigger leaves me with nothing to complain about. I find it perfectly acceptable on that rifle.

Well i went with the Timney. I have used Rifle Basix in my browning with success but the Timney just looked better for this application. Now to get it put in.

Timney's are simple to put in and adjust for pull and overtravel. Just make sure that you have enough sear engagement by doing a drop test on the buttplate with the rifle cocked and safety off. The only issue which I have ever had was buggered Phillips #2, screw heads on replacing Timney's.

Thanks, it is in transit as we type, i am looking forward to some quality time with the trigger and rifle.
