With all this lever action talk lately, I wondered into the local gunsmith and what did I find!!!!

Marlin 375 Winchester. Very good shape.

I already have one and it is a blast to shoot. So I could not pass on another.

My first one shoots 235 gr cast bullets around 1500 FPS into nice targets. The 375 Win can be loaded with 220 jacket FP to around 2200 FPS for a real thumper.

It reminds me of a mini 45-70.

Pics of the rifle and the cast bullets and cartridge. The comparison is a 280 Rem.

NIce! I have always liked the 375 Win. Shot a Big Bore 94 many years ago and it was a hoot.

Orchemo - that is a very good looking Marlin. I have never fired the .375 Win, but it sure seems like a great cartridge.

My hunting partner has a Marlin chambered in .375 Win. My personal .375 is a Model 94. It is a fun cartridge that is far more efficient at taking game then the numbers would suggest. I do enjoy the lever guns. That one is a beauty. Congratulations on a great find.

Nice score. My fellow teamate has a M94 375 and man, it shoots really well, even having a peep sight. Very capable rifle with 220 Hornady and RL7.

Great looking lever action. The .375 Win, .356 Win, and .307 Win don't get the respect they deserve.

Nice find there! I can believe it to be pretty darn effective with wider meplat cast as well. Looks to shoot very well too!! Who's mold would that be?
My 265 gr cast are a bit more pointy, but then meant to be driven somewhat fast in the .375 JDJ. But the .375 is a great and under appreciated round,,,with the other's that Heath mentioned.

I should perhaps show a few pictures of some fine lever guns.

Model 94, .375 Winchester

A couple of Model 94s chambered in .356 Winchester (my personal favourites)

Yeah, these are my bear guns.

Then, there are the newer acquisitions, a couple of Model 94s chambered in .307 Winchester.

I do enjoy the lever guns. I haven't acquired any Marlins at this point, but each one I've shot gave me better than acceptable accuracy. Each of my Model 94s deliver surprising accuracy. For instance, here is a typical group at 100 yards with the 375 Winchester.

The 307 Wins are showing promise, as well.

The .356s have consistently given me sub MOA for many years.

On the whole, the lever guns would please me were I somehow restricted to using them only.
