Alternate to a Ruger

Yeah, you aren't kidding! That looks like a cool alternate to the Rugers and they are strong actions as well. A 28" tube would be something awesome on a 300 H&H! Scotty

I've shot a few of the High Walls, and they shoot quite well. The last one was chambered in 257 STW, and gave me 0.5 inch groups. It was a sweet little rifle that would convert the most jaded bolt-ophile.

I haven't ever owned a single shot rifle, but I could see a Winchester being a nice one to own. Scotty

Scotty,
But why..........!

Here is a nice alternate to the Ruger's #1's. Not a bad list of chamberings either. Scotty

...CDNN had that & the .375 listed @ $899 or $999, love the 78/85's, but the new ones all got stubby barrels, 28" in a high wall isn't much more than a 24" in a bolt rifle...

That is what I was thinking. 28" of 300 H&H would be something awesome I think. I imagine you would get some excellent bullet speeds out of that.

Damn you Scotty!:)

Your welcome! Scotty

Like I need any help, but you and Mike have to be the world's worst (or, maybe best) enablers!

After my latest episode of RRB (Reflexive Remington Buying) I'm going to look at a Featherweight M70 this weekend. So I guess the High Wall will have to wait. If I buy it, that will be two in a row on non-Remingtons! Maybe there is hope for me!
