Yes, I am addicted to them. It is a .358STA with a McMillan stock and removable brake.

boomer, I'm drooling on my keyboard. That is my current "project in phases"! Congrats!

Boomer,

Very nice man. What are you going to name this rifle, "Thor".

That's a dream caliber/rifle combo. I can hardly wait for the range and hunting results.

Nice Boomer, that .358 STA is a hammer! The local elk should be worried for sure. I would change that Leupold windage screw mount for sure to something more substantial but other than small stuff, that should be a hammer.

Congrats on an excellent caliber. That is one caliber I want to own.

Same here. A 35 caliber magnum is pretty high on my list.

That is a very cool rifle!

A thumper it is! In regards to big game rounds, one having the .358 STA, along with 7STW would be hard pressed to find a better combo for covering the needs on this continent,,,jmo

How did I know you were going to say that..... you 35 nut you!

Is the case a full-length .375, necked down and blown out?

I don't know much about the .358 STA.

Awesome power not only in energy but in momentum and terminal results, a very powerful cartridge, what a hammer. Man, that gets me excited.

Guy it was based on the 8mm Rem Mag originally but I've used plenty of .375 H&H brass to form cases for mine. It has a 35 degree shoulder rather than a 25 degree for the 8mm and it has about .015" less body taper. I have a .375 based on the same case too. Between the two they have dispatched close to a dozen elk with authority.

Thanks guys. The person I bought it from threw in a Remington 700 SS barrel rechambered from 7mmRM to 7mm Wby. Now I need to find a action :)

Hi IdahoCTD,

Do you have any loads you can share?

93grs of H-4831 and a 250gr Hornady is what I shot. I built several others for friends and one shot 4350 with 225gr Sierra's. The others shot H-4831 with 225gr Sierra's and 225gr BT's. I can't remember the charge weights with their rifles though.
