It looks like that load/group will do 200 x 2 + quite a bit more Jim,,,,nice shooting there!!!

After all that prep, if the buck walks out at 100 yds, do you shoo him away, or slowly crawl backwards?

My buck fell last week to my sizzlin' 25-06 using 120 gr. Hornadys at 3175 fps mv out of a 28" barrel Encore. He was 110 yards away. Just ribs and lungs in the way, and pass through was inevitable. No complaints and no waste meat!

Nice buck elkeater2, congratulations.

As for range, I like to plan for the worst and hope for the best. I am confirmed out to 600 yds with my rifle but will take a 100 yd shot.

Congratulations on a fine looking buck. That's hunting; we plan for the worst and accept whatever is presented, even when it is the best.

Congrats on your buck EE2, love the comment about putting horns on your dog :) although some bubba might try and shoot your dog

I've got no proven antelope rifle, as I've never hunted them!

Hope to solve that problem next month!

Thanks guys. BTW, Bubba won't be archery hunting where I go, so the dog will be safe!

Hmm, how many deer and coyotes has that 25-06 accounted for? Trust me you are good to go. Im lucky I guess, shot more antelope at less than 100yds than I have over 200. CL

Well... The .25-06 has taken a few mule deer, coyotes and rock chucks....

But I don't know. Fotis used to tell me that it took a .30-378 or a .338-378 or some other cannon to take down a good pronghorn...

The bad ones? You have to start at 40 calibre. They're tougher than grizzlies.

What he left out was that's only when you're shooting upwind in Wyoming. Shooting downwind you can use a pellet gun.

I'm very quickly falling head over heals for the 270 Weatherby chambered m70 sitting in my safe. I would think a 140AB @ 3250+ would be a great goat gun.

My brother in-law used my stw last week to take two doe goats @ 653 and 683 yards. Both with a single 160 AB on the first shot. It worked pretty good as well.
