Or how ever you say it? Man, I feel like an addict needing a fix. Only two more weekends and our bow deer season opens and one week after that, hello Mr. Bugle

Here's to brown and down

Yes sir! Same here buddy. Looking forward to this Fall with elk and deer in the mix.

I only have 5.5 more months to go for my elk hunt. Why does the time drag by so slowly? :(

Yes! Yes! Yes! ......

Just hung my rut stand yesterday and Oct 31st can't come soon enough. I pretty much hunt most of November with Vacation and Turkey week I only work 7 or 8 days total :)

Although I won't hunt much during early Bowseason, it does open on Sept 14th.

Couldn't sleep at all last night. Finally woke up, got up rather, at 0300 to go and look at antelope pics and make a ballistic table. Cross your fingers, as we head for NE NM in a few minutes. Speed goats here we come!

EOD, where in NM are you hunting? I took a decent, amd my first and only speed goat on a ranch just out of Logan NM. I'm trying to work up the money to go again, maybe next year but I want the wife to come along and take her first animal. She loves to come along but has never shot anything.

PJ,
After nine years of applying, I finally drew one of the NE tags. They stuck us on a ranch above Clayton. It was awesome! The bucks were rutting hard and the range was in terrific condition from all the rain we've received. But with the rain came mosquitos, and they were brutal at night. I wound up putting on my gore-tex and hood up to keep them off of me, but my face and hands got it pretty good while I was dressing mine out in the dark. They even bit through my BDU pants to get at my legs. It was a great hunt. Mom popped hers at 530 yds and I got mine at 330 yds when the cover ran out and I did a skull drag through the grass for about 100 yds. Guess I should've listened to everyone and taken knee pads and leather gloves. Oh well, live and learn. Having my four year old daughter along made it really special too.

Congrats Joe! Must have been one heck of a hunt.

I'm so doggone excited about the bear hunt coming up in a few days... Dang!

As soon as I can get some time off for work I am going to try and get some more hogs down, and hopefully a deer. I have access to a few military bases down here and each time I have been there training I always see deer and hogs (and sometimes turkeys) and the guys always start jabbing "Hey Big Country go get us some dinner!!"...
