B&C Moose

My good friend and his wife went to the Yukon last year to hunt moose. On the 4th day and a 6 hr horse back ride into a good spot, they found what they were looking for about 300 yds away. They called to him and the big bull came right in. My buddy used a 300 Win Mag with 180 gr TSX bullets and shot him 3 times at 50 yds to put him down.
He has a lot of mass, points and very impressive fronts! The rack is 67" wide and scores in the 230's B&C!

I've seen several moose in the past week. They all look to be in great shape. We have a cow and a calf that wintered over in town this week, and we have a cow with twins that stays on the 400 yard range at the Sportsman's Club. I've watched them bed down on the hill overlooking the range to watch people shooting on many occasions. They are great to watch. One of my richest memories is of watching two bulls running through a marsh and my daughter crying because she was so taken with their graceful way of moving through the swampy waters. They are, in their own way, beautiful animals, and that one is a beautiful specimen.

Here is his Yukon Mountain Grizzly, taken on the same hunt as the 61" bull moose.
He heart shot it at 374 yds with his 300 Win Mag and a 180 gr TSX bullet.

Lovely mountain grizzly. They are plentiful around here. It is always an awe-inspiring experience to see them up close.
