Buddy of mine told me this morning that he's got quite the hunt coming up... Ibex & Marco Polo sheep - in Kyrgyzstan!

Taking his .308 Win, with the 6.5-20 Leupold and handloaded 165 gr Nosler Ballistic Tips. (y) He shoots that rifle very well, and has for 20 years or more. It's a little heavy, but very accurate.

I'm officially jealous... And happy for him. He's one heck of a hunter!

That will be a great hunt. Congratulations on him for seizing the opportunity.

Wow that sounds awesome Guy. Make sure to tell him to take many many photographs. Those little digital recorders all so small and compact too that it might be neat to see if he can get some of his hunt on video

Ya, he's never made a ton of money - but he was real smart about investing it and spending wisely. He's hunted Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and of course the good ol' USA.

Apparently he was offered a chance to get in on this hunt at a good price, had the cash available, and grabbed it!

I'm happy for him. And only a little more jealous...

Can't imagine why! Always glad to see deserving people score; and it does appear that he scored. (y)

Guy,

Congratulations to your buddy on his upcoming hunt of a lifetime.
I hope you will be able to share some pictures of this awesome hunt.

If I remember correctly Craig Boddington really enjoyed hunting that area. He was also very successful in bringing game home. Boddington did make a number of comments about the altitude and it would behoove anyone going into that area to check with a knowledgeable doctor. I think we're talking from 13000 feet on up.

Guy I hope he lets you post some photograph as I believe that would be a awesome hunt. Wish him a safe & exciting hunt from the guys & gals of the Nosler forum (y)!!

Blessings,
Dan

Gosh Guy,
This reminds me of the time I was offered a chance to hunt Mongolia thru Klineburgers in Seattle back in like 1985ish, my boss Kirk Gay had an in with old Bert K himself, they had a special deal at the time for both Wapiti and Lower Altai Sheep for $15K for both species, but Bert offered Kirk a deal that he could take a friend for the same price $15K total for two ,
So Kirk offer to take me if I would pay for half of my half or HALF of $7500 so I could have gone to Mongolia for two species for my cost $3750 !!!!! Think just the sheep now is $30k.................... OMG>
I was too numb at the time as we had just finished a loooong season with a ton of hunters and I told him I really appreaciated it but was going to pass........... [STUPID]....
He did not go either! So to this day we always mention the time we could have gone soooooooooo cheap.

That sounds like a great trip for your friend. I hope he has a fantastic trip.

I hope it's a great hunt for him as well. I'm not sure when he's going, but will update and try to con him into posting a few photos when it's all complete.
