Just got off the phone with Gramps! At 74 he is still going strong!

He needs some ammo for his 1909 vintage Savage 99 in .25-35; brass and dies we have, the question now is bullets.

Anyone know what the twist is? If not, I can easily measure it!!!

What bullets can we use and still maintain the proper cartridge overall length? I am concerned that even though we may safely use spitzers in the Savage rotary magazine, we wont be able to due to the limitations of oal and the bullet having sufficient neck tension at actual caliber on the ogive.

Any thoughts? He was wanting to use something in the 117-120 grain range.

Thanks -

Dale

Almost every time I have seen this round mentioned the 117 gr Hornady RN seems to be the go to bullet. Unfortunately I believe they have discontinued that bullet now. Hope you can find something, that gun sounds off the charts cool.......

87 grainer might even be better - though I admit knowing almost nothing about the .25-35.
