BULLET'S for Scotty ( and others )

I love it , I love it, I love it! Aleena you are the good Doctors match. You even have Cheyenne going.
But Where is Scotty with all this going on??? Boy is he missing out on the fun. I think he's being the gentleman and laying low.

Rodger, I think Scotty knows when he may have met his match . Why would anyone want to take on a very wise Lady of the north & the good Doctor 8)!
They both have forgotten more than most of us know when it comes to hunting & reloading !
It has been interesting watching this post develope !

Blessings,
Dan

HA!HA! Ha! I knew I would get a rise out you with that one. You've been toooo quite

Yeah, since I started down in NC I don't have much time around the computers during the day and try to get home to Va on the weekends, so I am busier than a 1 legged man in a butt kicking contest.

In other words, I have a strategic and tactical advantage! I need to get to work to seize the high ground. Where's Cheyenne when I need someone to watch my flank? Knew you were busy; it's always good to see you posting, though.

I here ya my friend. I've slowed up a lot since my wife found me a Job. I still need to post pics of the groups I shot with the Whelen. Just haven't had time to take them and the Wife is in the canning mode so I'm tied up there helping her. She Scared the shucks out of me last week, I thought I was going to loose her there for a while it was crazy. She woke me up saying her heart was racing and was very shaky. We spent 12hrs in the ER getting straightened out. Diagnoses was A-Fib and she will be going threw a bunch of test tomorrow.

Scotty, See it only took one post and you've got the good Dr. worried about his flank.

I am glad your wife is okay Rodger.

Mike, I am busy, but always happy to have a few minutes to catch up around here. It's almost time to start sorting gear and getting ready to head after elk. 338 and 35 Newton are shooting well, son's 7x57 is shooting excellent as well.. Life is good.

I am not too worried the good Doc. He has always helped me... I'd share a bullet or two if he asked!

A, thank you very much for all of the bullets. Very excited to see how they perform. Love trying out new bullets. The GSC's are a very cool, unexpected surprise. Scared to see how they perform.... You might make me a believer!

450 grain GS FN solid at 2450 fps. Deforms slightly. Good for everything but elephant.

485 grain Rhino at 2485 fps from 5 gallon nylon buckets of water 95% similar to George Hoffmans collection of 416 bullets recovered from cape buffalo.

Rhino bullets sectioned, 425 and 485 grain. Notice how ogive of jacket is not reduced in diameter. This causes some problems.

485 Rhino at 100 fps less velocity did better. Jacket too brittle, breaks at higher velocity. Not a premium bullet if it cant take a little velocity!!!!

400 and 450 grain North Fork at 2700 and 2550 fps at point blank and 100 yards.

400 and 450 grain NF from Cape Buffalo at 9 paces.

Notice similarity to 5 gallon nylon buckets. The 400 grain was going 2750 fps folks at 120 degrees F. No other bullet in the world could do this.

Why would you use anything other than a North Fork for dangerous game?

Great pictures AT. I have some 150 .277, 150 7mm and 250 .338 Rhino's to try out. I will run them into the water when I find a decently accurate load in the rifle. Always cool to see how they handle the jugs up close.

Now that's taking jug testing to a whole new level. Really digging how those North Forks perform. Thanks for the info.

I am telling you, those Northforks are some good bullets. Weight retention, frontal area and penetration all seem really good. I have some I'd pass if you wanna try em?

Brian, the Northforks are very good bullets. As Scotty knows our grandfather does most of our reloading and he likes the Northforks, so guess what we get to use. I know A also likes them and uses them. I think it was either A or Dallas ( who is no longer with us ) who guided Charles into his 9.3 x 64 and Northfork combo.

If Scotty and Tom get any more bullets from not, run of mill type bullet makers, and Dr Mike and I dont, I am going to tell the teacher. I know, spit in one hand and hope in the other and see which one fills up the fastest.

Scotty, quick trip to replenish supplies gave us access to a computer for a few minutes. The study is going well, hope your deployment is also going well sir

Go get 'em, Cheyenne! This crowd needs some good Canadian discipline.

Cheyenne thank you from all of us Canucks on the forum !! we might be out numbered but we are not out posted !!

Blessings,
Dan

DrMike, I just figured that I was chopped liver for bullet entitlements, despite actively shooting a 9.3x74R. I know my place as Fusilier Non Gratia, ever since I did not even get invited to join the Lone Eagle Forum.
