Loading for an M1A1. The 165gr SPBT bullet is .115 longer than the 165gr HPBT.
I assume both bullets should be set to same depth resulting in a .115 difference in cartridge overall length.
Am I right?
Depends, are you trying to maintain a certian "jump to the lands" or are you trying to keep them so they fit into the magazine?
One depends on the ogive location (relitive to the base of the cartridge), and the other depends on the tip location (COL)
