Ive got a ruger Strum m77 .220swift , locally out of CCI 200 , had CCI BR2 , anyone have data on these primers ? Do I have ro change my load? Seems to like 4064, and H380 over the varget. Thanks for the advise.

It is doubtful that you will need to change your load. However, it is alway wise to verify safety when changing any component or when beginning with new lot of one of the components.

if you are not using a max powder charge , I think you would be ok . if you are at max , I'd probably lower the charge .5 or 1.0 grain and work back up .

I've never seen any velocity difference nor confirmed accuracy difference between any CCI benchrest primer and the cci counterpart.

I can't remember if it was the Hornady or Vortex podcast but the Federal/CCI rep said that any extra set of eyes inspects the BR/Match primers. You're paying for the additional QA over the "regular" primers. The actual materials are the same so it wouldn't change your load data.

You are not changing primer type to a magnum. BR's or match are only held to a higher quality standard in factory processing. You will only have more accurate ignition. Cheers

At least they did a couple days ago….

When changing any components, including primers, you should reduce the load by 10% and work back in while monitoring the pressure markings. Since your Ruger M77 .220 Swift seems to like IMR 4064 and H380 powders, you can continue to use them while adjusting to changing primers. IMR 4064 is especially popular in the .220 Swift, which is often paired with 55-grain bullets.
