That is very true. It is impossible to calmly and rationally discuss hunting or firearms ownership with these zealots. Logic, real science and common sense do not factor into the equation with these people.
While I do not understand the rabid abhorrence some of these people have towards hunting and firearms, at least the more devout actually think they practice what they preach and do not eat meat, wear leather etc.
The ones that I find really disturbing are the individuals that have chosen this route and worked their way into the power structure of the various animal rights organizations purely for monetary gain and the fun of taking a free ride around the planet on the money of the well intentioned but misinformed. People like Patrick Watson come to mind and a few of the warm bodies at the helm of PETA. These people really do not care about the wildlife as much as they say they do, or animals in general, as many of the things they push for ultimately will have a very negative impact on the beasts they claim to love so dearly.
The world is filled with shallow thinkers who follow blindly and are not capable of identifying treachery and greed, even when it is right in front of them.
