All models of current Glock handguns being discontinued and redesigned for Anti Switch full auto.

Not sure why they have to discontinue all of them and relaunch a "new" one. Unfortunately getting and installing a switch is becoming ridiculously easy. We're seeing it more and more on the job. I'm glad to see them addressing it.

Yes it’s a totally new model that a switch cannot be installed.
I can’t forget the officer that was apprehending a suspect and the suspect gave the officer the magazine of 9mm at close range sadly.

There are a slew of companies which make aftemarket slide assemblies, so I would presume the frames will need to be redesigned to no longer be compatible with those third-party slides. This will have a downstream impact on the many, many companies which have been built over the years making and selling glock-compatible parts and accessories.

This was my first thought. Glock could change their own guns, but unless they ensure they no longer have aftermarket compatibility it would still be pretty easy to get an aftermarket part to do the same on top of a Glock frame. I'm not typically happy to see stuff like this considering I am not opposed to the legalization of full auto firearms, but I understand why it is a concern for Glock on a legal level. I don't think it will really help the problem they are addressing much though with the current prolifferation of the old models.

My understanding is someone all has come out with a new Glock switch for the new V Models. I’m sure a full auto Glock would be the last thing one want if you were shooting beyond 5 feet. But I have Zero experience with one just guessing.

While the new Gen 6 should be out soon, I'm not sure that all previous models are being discontinued. Yesterday, my dealer just got in a shipment of Gen 4 and Gen 5 pistols.

Same as Marlin putting the cross safety on the 1895 and S&W putting the screw safety above the cylinder latch they all bent the knee !
I am sure there is an inventory of Gen 4 and 5 that will be hitting the market . For me Gen 4 is just fine and probably the last.
