Cutting a Tikka stock?

I use my .308 T3 Lite in some close quarters such as ground blinds and treestands. The biggest gripe I have is the LOP is about 1/4 too long as it keeps hanging on heavy winter coats when I shoulder the rifle. It's fine standing at the range or in light clothes. But when sitting in a blind it takes a special effort to extend my arms to bring the pad past my coat.
I have looked at stocks and I think Boyd's have a lot of promise but I was just wondering if anybody had experience cutting down that synthetic stock?
I like the synthetic but it's starting to aggravate me a little.
Any cutting done would be a method that retains a way to attach a pad.

We cut the stock on my grandson's Tikka this past year. Apparently, it is a bit problematic, but not impossible. The fellows in the shop informed me that you need to make an insert to stabilize the pad. If it weren't for wanting a youth sized stock, I would have opted for a Boyd's laminate in the first place. However, when this stock is replaced, I'll likely pick up a Boyd's for Noah.

I like the Tikka wood stocks. I have aquired several and have flipped most my synthetic Tikkas to wood stocks. Quieter in the brush. I have a laminate Tikka stock and is really nice, but also heavier.

That being said, I have a synthetic on my Tikka 338 Fed that I use when beating and want a stock I am not concerned about..
