The shot labeled 7Mag would have been the fourth shot in the 7 mag group above. I knew I had a good three shot group so I shot at the other target. It would have clustered right in there with the two left most shots in that group.

Very nice John !!! Your 250 yard groups are outstanding to say the lest. Nice rifles, great shooting

Either of those rifles has to put a grin on your chin. The Creedmoor appears to be delivering very satisfying groups for you. You've got your act together with those rifles. Congratulations.

Excellent loads and shooting, very nice. I have the same model Savage you do other than it is left handed and a 260 Rem, kinda funny I'm at 41 gr of H 4350 as a standard load for 140 gr bullets what kind of spped are you getting? I'm just under 2700 fps on average with a bunch of bullets. The 140 gr Ballistic Tip has done very well in mine and recommend them to any 6.5 shooter to try along with the 140 gr Speer Deep Curl.

I haven't chronographed the creedmoor load. I ran out of time yesterday. I bought a few boxes of Hornady 140 Amax loads to shoot up for brass. The 41.5 gr H4350 load was recommended on the factory box for the amax. It is supposed to be about 2700 ft/sec.

I bought a few boxes of 6.5 140gr ballistic tips from the shooters pro shop a few weeks back but I haven't loaded any of them yet. I expect them to be perfect for this cartridge. The new 129 ALR is another bullet I can't wait to get my hands on.

John,
The 140 gr Ballistic Tip should do very well at those speeds I expect it would do great on game. Hopefully will find out this fall. I have the 129 gr ABLR on order and am looking forward to trying them. H 4350 has also done well with the 130 gr AccuBond in my gun and speeds are in the mid 2800 fps range. Still need to try out the 130 gr Swift and 129 gr Hornady and a bunch more. We are fortunate to have so many great 6.5mm slugs available to us.

I agree there are a lot of good bullets available now. The 6.5's seem to be gaining in popularity these days.

Good job!

What sort of speeds are you getting in the 7Mag with 66gr of RL22 and the 140ABs?

I've got some RL22 to try soon... BT

I didn't set the chronograph up Saturday. I did chronograph 66 and 68 gr of rl22 with a 139 interbond a few weeks back. 3268 and 3334 ft/sec respectively.
