Been looking at buying a quality lockable double scoped rifle case. Hard plastic might do but I would prefer something aluminum for the added protection during travel on the ground or in the air.

What are your recommendations?

Pelican 1750 double rifle case!
There are three layers of foam. Some people cut the outline of the rifle(s) out in the middle layer.
I haven't done that and the rifles are held in place via foam compression. It's rock solid and the rifles do not move at all.

I have an SKB double rifle case . I'm not real happy with the latches . never had one come open , but it sure looks like it could easily happen .

I have a "Pelican" copy from Harbor freight. This thing weighs 26lb empty..

I slipped a disc in my back carrying it and two scoped rifles up stairs from my vault!

I have an SKB case, used it the past 15 years with no problems.
A few friends use Pelican and swear by them.
