I am looking into a shooting program that I can take out into the field with me for a palm pilot and I found the exbal program. I have heard that it is a very good program, but I am wondering if anyone on here uses it and how does it work for you? what are some of the features that you like about it as well. Thank you

Mine is loaded into my HP pocket PC. I like it a lot and it's very accurate. I have tested the accuracy of the system up to 1600 yards, shooting my 338 Lapua Ackley. As the matter of fact, I don't need to tweeked the Sierra publish B.C for the 300 SMK and I was right on the money. I have a minor complaint with the program though because there's no provision for calculating spin drift and corliolis effect on the bullet. Other than that the system works great.

There is no doubt a must have tool when you want to play the longrange shooting or hunting. You also need an accurate portable weather meter like the Kestrel to gather weather data or condition in real time working in conjuction with your Ballistic program... An accurate rangefinder and last but not least although optional, a good GPS or compass for your Azimuth.

How to you determine azimuth with a compass, or azimuth at all as I have never known how to figure the azimuth.

Some ballistic programs requires you to input Azimuth to calculate the effect of coriolis when shooting at extreme distances. Azimuth as applied to shooting means the direction to where you point your barrel. This is where you need your GPS or compass.
