So I really would like to get into competitive shooting...Probably 600 yard max to start (even that's probably to far for me right now). I was reading about a new class of shooting called F-AR 15 - Essentially bring out your scoped AR 15 and shoot.

Anyways, anyone who does could you provide some information on how to get involved? How do I sign up for shoots? Schedule of were they are at? Any other options for "mid-long range" AR 15 223 Shooting.

Thanks

Hadn't heard of F-AR 15 yet.

F-class came into existence about 15 years ago as I recall. Put your rifle on the bipod or rest, and shoot prone competition that way. People have been using AR-15's in it, though most use a bolt action instead.

And for oh, a hundred years or so, there have been the NRA prone competitions, where there is no bipod or rest. The rifle is stabilized by sling only. Match grade sights, OR there is a class for scoped rifles.

The F-class is just a subset (and a very popular one) from the regular NRA prone comps. I wonder if F-AR is just a subset of F-Class?
