Of the three, which is it? 120 BT, 140 BT or AB?

Please keep in mind I have a 7RM/160 AB and 300 RUM/200 AB combo for the bigger/heavier stuff and 22-250 and 204 for the little stuff. Thanks!

Yote.....

My answer is ( D ) All the above. That has always been the one issue wiht my 7-08 as it shoots all equally as well. Since I have so many basically duplicating each other I've chosen the 120 B-tip for my 7-08 & left the 140 A-bonds for my .280
Those 120grainers will work excellent for deer.

For deer all that is needed is the 120BT in the 7mm-08. The bullet uses the heavier 140 grain jacket, so it will penetrate better plus you get the added velocity for more versitility if you have shots past 250 yards. This is the bullet loaded for my son's 7mm-08 and no deer has needed to be tracked past 30 yards yet.

If you plan on using the rifle for elk, definiitly use the 140AB.

140 Grain BT. Nearly the same trajectory as the 120 due to its higher BC. It is plenty tough enough at 7mm-08 velocities and a lot cheaper than the AccuBond.

All three will work well, let your rifle decide which one.
Tough to beat the 140 gr BT though.

Thanks guys! i'm leaning toward the 120 bt at this time based on the thicker jacket than the 140 bt. It seems there are a lot of good experiences with the 120-140 bt and ab. I see Nosler makes a 110 ab in .277...I'd think a 120 ab in .284 would be a sweet little bullet also.

Uh-oh, I'm going to throw a monkey wrench into the works. All I've ever used is the 140 Partition. Drops them like greased lightning and works at bad angles.

The 7-08 is one of the best rounds available for reduced recoil load data.
I'd look @ the 120's with the reduced loads all day long for a beginner.... get some good trigger time with that gun, then come hunting season your set.....

Excellent idea!

After talking to a couple buddies who each have had mixed results with the ballistic tips in 7mm08/7x57ai on both deer and hogs, I'm actually now leaning toward going with either the Barnes 120 TSX or 140 AccuBond. I have heard nothing but good things about either of these bullets.
