In the same vein as the other “favorite” posts, lets talk about our favorite handguns!

Lets say one single-action revolver, one double action revolver, one semi-automatic and one rimfire.

Single-action for me is kind of a tie. If I could afford an original Colt Bisley, it would undoubtedly hold this spot. But my Ruger Bisley Blackhawk .357 with a 7.5” barrel is my favorite single action revolver. It shoots the .38’s and .357’s with equal accuracy and I feel like I could take game handily with it out to 100 yards or so. The Bisley grips fits my enormous hands (frail right Guy? 😂) much better than any of the SAA styles and point more naturally too.

Double-action for me is also a bit of a toss-up. I like my GP-100 .357 very much, especially since installing a set of nice Altamont walnut grips. But the Colt 1917 .45 ACP and the S&W Registered Magnum or later Model 27 are hard to beat too.

Semi-automatic goes to the 1911 Colt (and variants) .45, but I also love the Colt 1908 Hammerless .380’s! They are great guns.

Rimfire for me goes to the High Standard Sport King SK-100 6” in .22 LR. I’ve made some incredible shots close and far, and on moving critters as well. Most of the time as a guide or on the ranch, my High Standard is on my hip. Easy to take down and clean, mine was made in 1956, the year my Dad was born. It also was the first handgun I ever purchased.

Well 2of 3 handguns I have are bolt action.
My favorite is the Wby CFP Accumark just because I wanted 1 for a long time. They were only a one year production.
Only 1 revolver a Taurus 44 mag , fun little guy.

I had two T/C Contenders years ago. One was a .223/.44 Mag combo. The other was a .30-30. They were very fun and scary accurate. But my interests changed and I sent them down the road.

Honestly I would love to have a Ruger Bisley Blackhawk in .25-20 WCF to go with my 1892 Winchester. That would be very fun!

Went through a ton of revolvers as a young man, always subject to going down the road so to speak with the latest whim. Hell I traded Colt Diamond backs for fly rods. I’ve never claimed to be a top end gun trader. The first 1911 I ever fired kind of soured me. One came home from the war in a foot locker, we would shoot it at deer camp. Damn thing was so loose if you shook it it rattled. No body ever hit anything we were shooting at with it. Duty guns I’ve had Colts, Sigs, Glocks, a number of variants available, finally hanging up the Sam Brown with a 1911. I grew fond of all my duty pistols, all served well.
I’ve two Ruger 22 Mark 11
Smith 686 357
Glock 17, 19, 27, 43
Sig Max Michael 1911 40 cal
Springfield TRP 1911 45 acp
Kimber 45 ACP

My favorite single action is my old Ruger Flat top 3 screw .44 mag. Had that gun for 35 plus years
2nd gun is a 686 Smith. Carried that gun for many years on the PD. Shoots lights out with a 4 inch barrel
Third is either my Sig P365XL or my P226 in .357 Sig. Absolutely love the 226. Made in Germany
My hunting (and fun gun) is a Competitor Arms single shot 15 inch barrel in 30.06. It also shoots very well.

Smith model 41, .22 LR for target
Browning Nomad, .22 LR for small game and trapping
Browning Hi-Power, 9mm for target and plinking
Smith model 657-3, .41 Mag for larger game
Kimber 1911 Ultra Carry II, .45ACP for a carry piece

I have others, but these tend to be the favorites

1911 - I've managed to accumulate several of them in 45, 9mm and a 22 rimfire version as well. I can use the same holster for any of them. Started shooting them in 1980/81 in the Marines. Carried one on duty my entire law enforcement career. Still carry one at least a couple of times a week.

The pistol I've shot the most is probably my Ruger 22/45 - might be a tossup between that and the 1997 vintage Kimber with well over 80,000 rounds through it. The 22 is one heck of a lot less expensive to feed.

S&W J, K, N frames! Probably my favorite is the 3" Model 60, 357 magnum.

Ruger Single Six for my single action/rimfire. Really like that thing. Bought it for my dad about 25 years ago I think. It's come back to me, and that's just fine.

Single action i only have a few guess my favorite would be the ruger single 7 birdhead 327. Close second would be 22 single 6, or bearcat but ill say those are the rimfire
Double action is tough, S&w 657 41mag , or one of my 357s kimber dasa or s&w 686.
Semi auto would be a 1911 but a toss up between the EMP 9mm or danwesson 10mm.
