Which to me is a very scary thing. The fact that green box, Speer and CCI but in particular CCI, Rem, and Fed all who supply 75 percent of all primers that we use in one way or the other is VERY CONCERNING!

It sucks for future loaders but unless my stores of powder and primers burn down I should be set for life. I luckily have mostly basic old fashioned cartridges that are over 50 years old and brass is easy to get just place an order with Starline if I need more. Only tough one to find is 300 WSM only reason I even have such a rifle was I got it at auction dirt cheap but even here I should have enough brass to last me.

The joke is almost all our gun and component manufacturing is either foreign owned or made overseas. This seems strange for the only country on the planet with a Constitutional Right to arms. Switzerland may be only other country with pro gun views.

I think that at least for a while the plants will stay here due to the fact there's some serious government contracts involved.
However, I do feel that those shareholders and their greed show a clear and present danger to the security of the country, especially is after the government contracts are finished and they move everything out of the country.

Vista outdoors is like most American businesses, They move overseas or buy from there. Many items we buy in Walmart are made in China. More profit, plain and simple.

I DO NOT shop at Walmart.
I mean no malice in that but I own a business and equipment for that or personal use I will not buy Asian made goods. At least as far as can be helped. Sometimes electronics can be tough to aquire outside of
Asia.
I bought a TV around 2005-2008 that was made in USA. Still going.

When I was growing up it was
made in Japan as the brunt of the jokes.
That became...made in Taiwan as the joke bearer...
That became made in Philippines...

Now what we see...

Made in China.

They're definitely without a doubt the worst of all. Quality is trash and that might be over complimentary

I don't know what you mean big business could care less.

Business, as in manufacturing, absolutely cares because you can't buy junk from Asia and use it to do business. Not if you want to be reputable.

Moreover and sadly, the buying populous drives the goods and services thus country of origin plays a big part.

Example...
I only buy Danner made in USA boots.
I have a pair of Santiam's on year 20 and counting. They were $349 20 years ago.
Yet people can't help themselves and buy imported boots every year for $70 and in 20 years they've got $1400 in boots.....
Meanwhile I still have $349 in them.
No leaks and they get sno-seal thrice a year...

That's an example of one item but that example is a generalization of the buying masses and their shopping habits. They cut their nose off to spite thine face and don't even realize...

Know and shoot w/ people who work for Federal. Reality is, as has been noted, most our ammo and components are now sourced outside of this country. Between the EPA and the profit margin- the future of the sport and our rights are being sold over seas.

Well, now that I have had the opportunity to read the article, I reiterate my original points. If those brands continue to be manufactured in the US, I am considerably less concerned with who owns the company. I am very much interested in the US maintaining both manufacturing capability - of all sorts - and keeping Americans gainfully employed in the trades - of all sorts. The article seems to state that the intent is to maintain manufacturing as-is, at least insofar as production is concerned. However, on day one after the sale is completed, the new owner may do as they please (within the confines of law and contract). That said, manufacturing capacity is not something one simply waves a wand and increases, so I expect that manufacturing will remain precisely where it currently is.

Will prices increase, decrease, or maintain? Likely increase, I expect. But, that's just the general trend of things, and not some special insight.

I absolutely agree that buyer apathy has directly contributed to the offshoring of production and jobs, but so has the fact that inflation has outpaced wages for many, many years. I won't speak for others, but I find that my idealism wanes proportional to how near the bottom of the soup can I get.

To be clear, I am not trying to take issue with anything anyone has said. And for the record, my wife has a pair of Danners that's she had so long that I won't put the number here.
