Just finished my wife’s 783 in 308 Winchester.

Went out to my workshop and glass bedded the action. A very tight bedding job if I do say so myself, solid as a rock. Hydro dipped the stock in Digital Desert camo like she wanted, and finished it with 5 coats of matte clear for a topcoat. It’s a little glossy for my taste so I may knock it down with some 0000 steel wool. But if she wants to keep it this way that’s fine too I guess. Then topped it with a Nikon BDC scope.

Now for her to fire it. It hasn’t had a round through it yet except for the factory test fire. One of my light rifles is an unbedded 783 in 308 that consistently groups under an inch with handloads. I’ll let her try those loads and see how it does. 150 grain Partitions over a middle of the road charge of CFE223. Sure hope it shoots as good as it looks.

If she shoots as good as she looks. It’s a winner. Awesome build.

Looks good! Don't own any but I like those 783's from everything I know about them.

Great looking rifle.
Looking forward to your range report.
