Picked up my first box of Accubonds yesterday - 200 grain .30 cal bullets destined for my .300 RUM. Many guys I spoke with and corresponded with re the .300 RUM urged me to try the 200 gr AccuBond in it - so I will. Have been doing all my load workups so far with 200 gr Sierras and Retumbo. The rifle is producing very good accuracy at both 3050 fps and 3150 fps. That's about as hard as I've pushed it - and it's pushing back pretty good, so that's likely the velocity level I'll leave it at...

Planning to hunt mulies, black bear and possibly elk here in Washington this season and hope to get drawn for a Wyoming mulie hunt.

Ya think I'll have enough gun & bullet?

I think that you will have plenty of gun and bullet. Especially if you plan on turning over cars!

You should have plenty of firepower for anything to 1K!!

I hope those 200g AB shoot well for you around 3150-3200fps, they are a real hammer at both ends, ha ha!!

Nothing wrong with those Sierras, but at the RUM velocity, it will flat tear them bullets apart. Those are pretty much varmint bullets outta the RUM!

Guy,

You have picked a great bullet for your 300 RUM. The 200 gr AB can be used to hunt anything in NA without any doubt.
Let us know how she shoots.
