I'm trying to decide if I'm going to be a foster parent or adopt.

I've already got a rifle in this chambering and don't know if I need another. It weighs 7.07 lbs according to my fish scale as you see it so loaded and with a scope should be slightly over 8 lbs. She could use a good bedding job into that stock. I just couldn't stand to see this rifle sit in the consignment corner anymore.

I bought this rifle because Dr. Mike said I should the other day, oh well at least there is plenty of family in the safe for her to play with.

That BDL would have been a great steal. Someone will get a fine rifle when they buy that.

I believe you made a great catch. By all means, adopt. Now, you can have twins, even if they are fraternal and not identical.

Lemme know if you decide to move it. My Classic may need a brother. And you all know I'm a sucker for Remington 700s.

I have it's brother at my house, identical including the stock. Nice find!

I'd have adopted it myself had I known about it and I aleady have three rifles chambered to the Whelen. The Whelen os steadily growing to be my most favorite cartridge. 8)

Yep! One is pretty and the other functional.

To be certain, that is a handsome rifle. However, the orphan just may become a stand-out star.

Taylorce1 - those are both great rifles! I'm a little jealous...

That bottom one, with the terrific wood... Wow - I think I'd have to mount a 2.5x Leupold compact as low as possible on it, or maybe even just go with a quality receiver sight. That thing sings out "classic" - very nice.

The new one in the B&C stock calls for a rough and tumble elk hunt. No doubt!

Without a doubt!

Great score on that rifle buddy. With a good scope and a bedding job, you would be hard pressed to do much better than that for elk/bear etc. Scotty

Well put some Leupold Weaver bases and PRW rings on it today along with a 3.5-10 VXIII. Loaded the mag with five rounds of 200 grain factory ammunition. Weighs 8.66 lbs all up, should make a pretty nice rifle to carry.

Man, I have gotta weigh my Whelen. Makes me wonder what it weighs.

Those are 2 good looking rifles and I don't think you can get to many 35 whelens
Well I still have not seen mine or heard about it lately. But the time will come and it will be in my safe

Blessings,
Dan

Dan,

Do you suppose that it your Whelen that they gave me? Wow, if so, thank you!

You know I'm yanking your chain. Mine is held up, and all it needed was a new barrel!

From what Mike says, it will be worth the wait Dan. Those rifles are some very nice set ups. If I was a Canuck, I would love to have them build me a rifle as well.. The pictures of them are just beautiful. Hope your stocking up on bullets and brass! Scotty

Had the day off on Monday so headed to the range about 2 pm. Took more ammo than I'd have liked to get it on paper, but I did manage to shoot one 1" 3 shot group at 100 yards before I was done. I'm going to load up some ammunition this week and see what she can do as I picked up some 225 grain Sierra's as well this weekend.
