I like to set goals for myself as a way to stay motivated. Here is my list of goals for the year, what are yours?

1) Apply for and win an antelope tag for WY and then travel west in October with a buddy for a week.
2) Put in for another elk and mule deer point in WY
3) Put the finishing touches on a 165 Partition load for my Ruger 30-06
4) Get the 338WM shooting 225 AccuBonds
5) Develop a load for the 35 Whelen and 444 Marlin
6) Draw a fisher tag and catch a big male
7) Catch a musky on the lake across the road
8) Practice out to 300 for my trip west
9) Hunt whitetail as much as possible with a bow and rifle
10) Head to Lake Michigan with my wife for a few days of salmon fishing
11) Be part of at least 3 successful turkey hunts this spring
12) Enjoy as much time as I can hunting/fishing/reloading

The list is long but I feel that most of it can be done.

1. I'm with you on Wyoming antelope.
2. Find a killer load for my .243 to use on #1.
3. Kill a deer in CA! Bow or rifle...this is no easy task.
4. Kill a turkey in CA. Bow or shotgun. Came close in '14.
5. Start putting the smack down on the local coyotes!
6. Develope lead free .223 load to help with #5.

These are great goals gentlemen.

I always want to be out hunting but my goal for 2015 is to quit being so busy.

I have got to find time to be with my family more and together we will all go out and do
more of what we love. With my job and being a salaried employee for a corporation, I am
just too damned busy all the time.

Stay healthy through elk season.

Hunt elk.
Hunt elk.
Hunt elk.

Get the idea??

Great goals gents, like Bill I'll focus on elk, staying fit enough to get in and out. Sande will be retired next fall so we'll get her more involved.
1. Oregon deer
2. Pheasant and chukar opener
3. Washington deer.
4. Road trip, Mt. Nd, Sd Upland
5. Oregon elk
I also need to start accumulating Wyoming points.

Don, the Wyoming "reduced price" cow calf hunt option, is a great bargain and does not count against your preference. points

Shoot and reload more. I really slacked off for 2014. Spent too much time on the computer. Must be getting lazy in my old age or something. :(

My main goal is to get healthy & grow the Needs Minstry for our church!
Apply & obtain a out of province Moose tag so that this coming September I can arrange a hunt with gerry & DrMike:)!!

Blessings,
Dan

1. Develop a 308 load for my new Ruger American stainless (still not even sighted in yet  )
2. Develop a new 300 win mag load, using 220 grain Partitions (200 grn partitions have been my go-to)
3. Decide on 130 grn or 140 grn 270 win bullets. Then get my new VX3 3.5x10 CDS dial made from Leupold. I have the 140 grn AB chrono'd and shooting well with H4831sc. But I have 3 boxes of 130 grn BT, unfortunately I shot my chronograph  so I'd have to get a new one to get that load settled.
4. Take my oldest (8y/o) duck hunting again (took him for the first time last week, not shooting, just sitting in the blind with me).
5. Take my 4 y/o fishing, I think he's ready for his own big-boy pole.
6. Maybe shoot something besides paper (or chronographs)…

So are you going elk hunting this year Bill? Lmao

I have a few builds in the works and a few others I might try to do this year. 6x47L, 6.5saum, and another 30-338 Norma Imp are already in the works. I'm thinking about a 6.5x68 Imp and something 270 since I haven't built one in probably 15 years. I might even do a 6.5 or 7mm on a 300 Norma case.

Try to shoot more in general.

I intend to start applying for elk, antelope, and deer in a couple other states. Utah and Wyoming will at the top of the list. I might try to get a cow tag in WY if my buddy goes again this year.

I'll put in for all the nearly impossible stuff to draw here in Idaho again and cross my fingers.

I'll see if my boys have enough patience for fishing this year. Last year the fishing wasn't overly good and they were too young to stay focused.

I'd like to have some time to scout for a new deer hunting spot since the deer numbers in most of my old haunts are pretty low from wolves.

Do a bunch of camping/fishing/4 wheeler trips with the family this summer.

Get my oldest boy a BB gun and get him shooting. I'm sure he will have a dirt bike with training wheels by summer too.

Have a good spring shooting rock chucks/squirrels and baiting bears.

That late season elk sound so awesome. I need to find someone in WI to go with around Christmas when I get a break from work.

Get a predator call
Hunt coyotes
Get an appropriate shotgun and shoot clays (trap and 5 stand) at my local range
Hunt coyotes
Work
Hunt coyotes
Extend my wife's shooting capability/experience (600 yards)
Hunt coyotes
Kill a coyote at 1200 yards
Kill a coyote at 10 feet
Work some more...to pay for all this

1) Continue to see tomorrow
2) See #1

Get to the range to shoot (not just work) at least 2xper month.
Repeatable accuracy @ 100yds + with the slug gun
Set up reloading at home
Squirrel hunt with BIL
Stay employed or better employment
stay healthy to do all that

Update - Guy inspired me to add a photo. Any time you can get your wife to smile like that its worth repeating. That's my (her..?) single six in the crook of her arm. She does pretty well with that thing. :) CL

Shoot more, reload more, hunt more, fish more, and have more fun. That's about it.

...I plan on keeping it fairly simple...

...go to bed in the evening...

...get out of bed in the morning...

...try not to break anything important in between...

Gene as soon as you mount a horse, you have lost control of the situation.!!! Stay away from the pony's and you will be safer.

Kill another Cougar, Get a Fall bear out of the Junipers, Kill Another Mature Buck, Put a Big Cow Elk in the Freezer.
