Well, either tomorrow or Monday my scope, Warne bases and QD rings will be here. I can't wait to mount my scope and take my loads and go to the range. Will show pictures of scoped rifle and range targets in another 3 to 4 days.:)
..................................................................Good! You are my guinea pig (so to speak)!!............As with the oher reviewers on the Midway site, if you come up with the same 5 star rating with your V3, it will then be at the top of my short list..........FOV should be excellent. But I`m more interested in resolution and/or clarity, ease of sighting in (audible clicks?).................

No problem, I know what you are looking for, the same thing I look for.

...................................................Your Remy with the 20" tube and about 41 1/4" in OAL, is about the same OAL as the Alaskan I have now and the M1500 Howa that is coming later; both at 40.5"............With your pics (maybe a good sideview?), I can judge pretty well the porportion of the scope to the rifle OAL............It will be interesting to see if you compare the V3 favorably to your Nikon Monarch (I know you have a Monarch), just as the V3 owner did in his review on the Midway site!

Well, got my scope mounted o my 350 Rem Mag and will take pictures tomorrow. We are suppose to have 30% chance of ran tomorrow but if the radar shows a big gap I will shoot the 350 Rem Mag. Will shoot the 200gr bullets first then the end of the week are first of next week work on my 225gr loads. :)

.........................Good! Looking forward to your optic report on the V3 and the pics!

Weaver V 1-3x20mm tracked just like it was suppose to. I thought everybody talked about how the 350 Rem Mag kicks. I guess I have been shooting magnums so long that this one is a piece of cake. Scope eye relief was more than enough. This is a great shooting rifle and cartridge. Shot 200gr bullets today and it shot with my fast load of 2821fps on average and shot a 1 1/4" group.

That scope does look very good on that rifle! Good porportion too!......How were the V3`s optics compared to your higher priced scopes???? Clarity, brightness??

It is as good as any I have used under 400.00 dollars and that is not a stretch. Really nice and when I turned the clicks it moved right where I moved it. This has turned into a very handy rifle, scope and cartridge. This will find a place in some of my hunting for sure.

Great looking rifle!

I took a 700Classic in 300sav and replaced the barrel with 358win at 20.5 inches it wears a VXIII 1.5-5x20mm, So you see why I like yours.

The 350rem first came out in a 18 inch barreled gun with loads of muzzle blast. Most likely why it got a bad rap. The 350rem, 35whelen don't have much felt recoil and thats why I first bought a 35 whelen and still love it. I consider my self recoil sensitive so I shoot the 270win, 35whelen, 358win, and 35rem with these recoil is no issue.

The rem 200gr PTCL, and nosler 225gr partitions should be all you need for it. Its serious power the medium cals offer.

bullet,

Very nice looking rig!
Nice wood on the rifle (not rifle on the wood)!
I'm sure you will find "the load".

....................................In that case, I`ve narrowed it down to only two. The V3 or the Nikon Monarch UCC 1.5-4.5x20 (aka. a shotgun scope), which is now on sale and in stock at SWFA for only $139.95. According to SWFA, these have been discontinued by Nikon and they got a special deal from the Nikon rep at a show. On the Midway site and on other sites it`s listed at $259.95.......Not quite the FOV as the little V3, but still at a great price though!.............Eeeenie meeenie mineee moe???.............Which one?

I am loading my round with an OAL of 2.810" just a little less than my magazine. I am actually able to have an OAL with my Mod 7 of 2.820" and still fit in the magazine.

Just got back from the range and tested my 225gr Sierra Game King load. Used WW748, H380, IMR4320, IMR4895. WW748 was the fastest at 2708fps, IMR4895 was second with 2688fps, and IMR4320 was third with 2648fps and H380 was fourth with 2594fps. IMR4895 was the most accurate today and here is the target. Not bad shooting for my Weaver 1-3x20mm, using 3x at 100yds.

225gr Sierra Game King, 58grs IMR4895, 2688fps on average

bullet,

Nice shooting, especially when you consider the scope is only 3x.
Looks to be a good load.

Yes, this will be a good load. I was thinking WW748 would work better and IMR4320. So when I got to this load I was not really trying very hard and actually kind of hurried through this group and was surprised at the chrono reading and accuracy. I think it will get a little tighter with more effort and attention from me and my shooting mechanics.

A simple little trick for precision shooting with 3x at 100 yards is to place a 2" bright colored red or yellow dot on the target and center the cross hairs cutting the dot into exact fourths!!........My experience using that technique has been very good!!
