Got Me A Short Tumper

bullet

Congratulations on the new thumper. I really like the classic looks of the CDL. The 350 RM can generate some horsepower so don't be afraid to limit yourself as a short range rifle. 300 yds is no problem.
Nice photos, I like the "Business End" pic (5/7).

Let us know how she shoots when you get your glass mounted.

I sure hope that you have a chain saw!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Geeees!!!...........Oh! BTW, I contacted Midway and they in fact verified that the eye relief was only 3.12" on the V3 and not 3.9" which was in error!! They are changing it on their site! I called Weaver again and they to did confirm the same 3.12".........Everyone else had it at 3.12" except Midway!! Thought I`d let you know, so that you won`t be surprised when the V3 arrives!!

Thanks, that is fine with me, I want the wide field of view.

Just a thought for you on scopes-
Leupold VXIII 1.75x6 would cover just about anything you would want to hunt with your 350 Rem Mag.

Yes, you are right but not going to spend that much right now. Leupold wants to much for what I get. I can't at this point afford the VXIII.

.........................................JD.............If you go over to the Midway site and read the reviews by the Weaver Classic V3 owners, you have to conclude that this is one great little scope for the money!........I am very much considering this scope for my Howa 375 Ruger when it arrives later this year!......V3 owners report clarity and low light capabilities comparable to VX2`s and VX3`s. One even stated that his V3 had better low light capabilities than his own 1.5-5x20 VX3!Another compared the V3 to his Monarch Gold!.............The V3 offers great fully/multi-coated glass, quicker target acquistion with both eyes open aiming, lighter weight, much better FOV and is less money. For hunting ranges less than 250 yards the 1x3 has certain advantages and IMO, regardless of cost, is a better choice for Bullet`s M7 350 Rem. Mag...........I also spoke directly with Weaver who told me that since the Meade takeover, no changes were made in the Japanese materials or suppliers in the Weaver maunufacture of their scopes!..........This little Weaver will do anything in the field that the VX3 can do! In porportion to the increased price, the 1.5x6 VX3 is certainly not 2 1/2 times better than the V3! Not even close!.................

Big Squeeze, you said and I agree with you, "This little Weaver will do anything in the field that the VX3 can do! In porportion to the increased price, the 1.5x6 VX3 is certainly not 2 1/2 times better than the V3! Not even close!" Leupold ask to much for what they give. I have become very disappointed in their lack of innovation and the fact they just try and add a bunch of bells and whistles instead of better glass and they need to use less plastic lenses on the inside of their scopes. Are they good scopes? Yes!! for the money? NO!!!!!

.........................................................Well! You know how it goes sometimes. That gold ring on the Leupold objective end, to some, translates into a gold wedding band or symbolizes the same thing!! They just have to have the Leupold scope no matter what!.......Yes! They are good scopes! But they are also over priced for what you get!....... My Elite 4200, a Nikon Monarch, a Sightron Big Sky, a Burris Sig. Select or any other similiar scope, will do the same thing in the field as any VX3, AND may very well do it better too! The 4200 will do it better!

Bullet.......................After you shoot with the V3, let me know how its clarity and brightness is and how the V3 compares to other scopes you have...........Should be interesting!

Well, either tomorrow or Monday my scope, Warne bases and QD rings will be here. I can't wait to mount my scope and take my loads and go to the range. Will show pictures of scoped rifle and range targets in another 3 to 4 days.:)

..................................................................Good! You are my guinea pig (so to speak)!!............As with the oher reviewers on the Midway site, if you come up with the same 5 star rating with your V3, it will then be at the top of my short list..........FOV should be excellent. But I`m more interested in resolution and/or clarity, ease of sighting in (audible clicks?).................
