Gun Manufacturer Leaving Connecticut

Hope every last one of them pulls out and the economic loss to the state of Conneticut hits them very hard.
Also looks as though Beretta is about to tell Maryland "Adios" as well. I think I read Beretta paid $30 million in taxes to the state on average.
Hitting them in the wallet is the only way these "elected officials" realize what they have done.

Colt is already opening a shop in Texas, hope they all end up here.

I don't blame them for availing themselves of the contract. Nevertheless, for the sake of integrity, they need to consider a move.

You think that Remington's owner, Cerberus Management, has integrity?

Surely you jest.

I've probably bought my last Remington anything.

I haven't been impressed with their quality control lately in reloading components, only own one rifle of their's, and starting to look at where my dollar goes when I buy something with a much more critical eye. I fear we are coming to a time when all people will be forced to make a choice.

There are about 235,000 jobs in the gun industry in this country with a fairly large percentage of manufacturing jobs in Connecticut, between Colt and Mossberg, plus their suppliers. Additionally, there are many jobs in Ilion, NY at Remington Arms Company and their suppliers.

These three companies, Colt Industries, Remington (plus Stag Arms) and Mossberg have been manufacturing in New York and in Connecticut for 150 years or more. The governors of these states did not give a fig about this fact when they wrote and forced passage of this draconian legislation. Many people, just like me, will not buy Colt, Remington and Mossberg products anymore, just on principle.

I have been wanting a new Colt SAA for 5 years now, since four of my Colt pistols were stolen in a home invasion robbery by two older teenagers who were grandchildren of my former neighbor. Plus I now also own (2) USFA pistols that are made in Hartford at the original Colt Factory. Now I will get by without buying anymore of these guns because I will never buy a Colt, Remington or Mossberg gun as long as their factories are located in Connecticut or in New Yawk.

If these states are so emotionally immature to have their Governor's write and force passage of foolish legislation as they did without review by their elected Representatives, they will get no more of my money ever!
