How about a 257 LRAB?

Same here! As long as it works with a 1-10 Twist, I'd be all over that.

I'll buy a thousand right now!
I'd like to see it over a 120gr though..... for the 257 bee!

There just might be one in the works for next year. ;)

That is why I asked for a 115 gr.!

I am onboard for a 110 or 115 grain ABLR bullet, as long as it is stable in a 1 in 10 inch .257 Roberts barrel.

Count me in definately. The 115 Nbt is about as good as it gets for a long range. 257" bullet in all aspects. Could use a little more BC tho at around the .5 mark.

To heck with the VLD.

Enlighten me....I thought that is pretty much what we had with the 110 AB. Thats probably as heavy as i can go. What are the properties that make a bullet Long Range? I assume its a length to bore ratio? CL

CL, the sleeker they can make a bullet, the less it'll be affected by the wind. LR is a misnomer. LR to me is 600 yards, but to alot of others on here, they won't even get started till they start hitting 600.

The AB is a fairly low BC at .410 compared to even .45 with the 115 BT. I would imagine it would only take a little massaging to make a good .5+ bullet. The big boattails they are putting on the ABLR's would help a ton, along with maybe a little revamping on the nose..

The BTLR's that I have seen in .270 and 7mm are a whole different ogive than the standard Ballistic Tips which we all know and love. However making a .25-06 bullet in this curvature won't do much for the many .257 Robert's shooters in the crowd. I think that we Robert's shooters need a 110 grain bullet.

Heck, I "hold on hair" now to 400 yards with the standard 115 gr Ballistic Tip, and get excellent terminal results out that far.

Don't think I'll get all that excited one way or the other about a "long range" variant.

Famous last words... I said the same about the 150 ABLR for the 270WSM and the 168ABLR for the 7mm WSM... I couldn't help it!
