Hunting Season Workout

Guy, I also miss the income & my health coverage. But I really don't miss the all the drama & pressure ! I believe in the long run my health has benefited since I retired & started my Cardio & Weight training.

Blessings,
Dan

Hit the treadmill today after work. Thinking I may need some pain medication to get through the night.
Pushed for an hour. I went in to oxen mode and just put my head down and walked. I may have over done it. Tomorrow will tell.

Yup, definitely over did it.
I'll be hurting tomorrow for sure. Dang arthritis. I'm hating having to slow down when my muscles are capable but my joints are not. I cut the speed on the treadmill hoping to avoid this.

Yup! Going to bed with those 'Ritis boys is no fun. They tend to make us feel miserable. Fortunately, we have access to Ibuprofen, ASA and Naproxen to keep us moving.

Can't use moron or naproxen since my stent per my cardiologist. That leaves me with Tylenol or vicodin. Tonight is a double vicodin night. Had my knee braces on when I was on the treadmill too.

I noted that, Vince, but decided not to comment as it is possible that you meant to say that "moron." I have not mastered my phone. I simply hate using a device that is smarter than me. I'm going back to a flip phone so it won't be "smart."

I miss my flip phone but would miss the relative ease of texting and camera features more. Not to mention my Internet access.

Taking the wife to a local waterfall, short hike, so she can take some pictures. The recent rains have brought out the beauty of the desert.
I'll be on days for the next week or two then bouncing between days and nights. That will make getting workouts in tough. I'll muddle through it and do what I can between the treadmill and the gym.

Cool. Waterfalls are great!

I'm headed out shortly on a 25 - 30 mile bicycle ride with some buddies! Always fun.

Hot here, getting up over 100 degrees pretty regularly in the afternoon now. Much warmer than normal for July.

Guy

Finished up our group ride at about 11:00 and 95 degrees.

Heading for 105 later today, so it's said.

I'll be hanging out in the shade, and hopefully in the A/C most of the rest of the day!

Hike is over.
Was in the Cath lab this morning to remove the 80 bag of cement that landed on my chest. I ended up with a helicopter wilderness rescue for angina. The hike wasn't even a hard hike but my cardiac issues reared their ugly head. I hiked a mile while having my little heart attack to get a a place where the helicopter could get to while the wife went ahead to get to a ridge with cell phone reception.
We were hiking out when this happened and I'd made it six of the eight miles. It wasn't beyond my capabilities and my pack was only ten to fifteen pounds. I was having to encourage the wife on the way in. On the way out I picked up that bag of cement. I never want to feel like that again and while I'm thankful I was rescued, I hate helicopters and being airlifted up in the seat.
The local Sheriff's Department saved my life, literally, and I'm grateful.
Take care all. I may be offline for a bit while I'm mending. I have a hunt in October I need to get ready for.

Wow, Vince. I pray that you recover completely. Glad that you got help in time.
Take care.

Vince, I am lifting you up in prayer my friend. Lord we need one of your supernatural healing for Vince. Amen!!

Blessings,
Dan

OK all, I'm back, sorry of.
Seen my cardiologist after the hospital and he switched some of my meds around. Back to work.
I want to thank you all for the prayers and well wishes. I'm going to keep plugging away.
I've got a coues hunt to look forward to this year and a moose hunt next year. Before that I owe my wife, whom I jokingly refer to as SWMBO, some jewelery as a way of saying thank you.
We, her and I, are also looking at a better GPS and a satellite phone in case something like this happens again.
