I have to ask, why skip cast bullets in the Marlin? Properly sized they shoot just fine. They kill deer very nicely too. 8)

Micro grooves shoot lead just fine if you use properly sized bullets. My 444 really like Beartooth 290 grain LFNGC sized at .432".

That is way better than mine, I was really happy with 1 inch at 100 yards. Marshall sure has built some great bullets for the 444s and Marlins.

The 444 does well with the 300 Sierra too! 2150 fps with H335. And this is with a 1:38 twist micogroove 444.
