Just got back from the local gun shop, where I held a Sig 226 for quite some time! It just felt great in my hand. So tempting it hurts

The 226 is a good pistol. We run 229's here at work and they are good pistols, accurate but a little heavy. Hope you get the Whelen instead!!!

Good man, Scotty. We have to stay on message for Steve's sake. He hasn't seen the light ... yet.

Sigs always feel good in the hand. Had a 226 for awhile, had a weak/stupid moment and traded to a friend who had been telling me forever that he needed it more than I did. Did get a nice pre 64 model 94 out of it.

Had one since 1989 and it still is a very viable weapon. Used to have one in .357 Sig and picked up a 40 barrel for it. Someone offered a crazy amount of money and it went to live at a new house.

how did you like the 357 sig?

The .357 Sig in the P226 had become my go to carry gun.
I like the round and the platform. It has replaced the 1911 in .45 ACP.

I like the round very much. To me, it offers a greater degree of accuracy compared to the .40 and shoots very flat. Recoil is not objectionable either. The only downside it that it didn't have skyrocketing popularity so ammo can be a little hard to find some places. If you reload, you may have to lube cases since the only dies I know of are not of the carbide variety. That could have changed in later years, though.

I currently have a Sig 229, a barrel for my Browning Hi Power, and a barrel for my full sized M&P all in 357 Sig. I have also owned the aforementioned 226, a 239, a Glock 33, and barrels for a Glock 22 and a 35. All performed very well.

The .357 Sig is the cat's meow as far as I'm concerned.
I say that as a dedicated 1911 packer. The only advantage the 1911 had these days is its slim profile and that is quickly out paced by the ammo capacity of the 357 platform and the ability of the round.
