I have one of the remington 700 cdl in 264 wm on its way

120gr TSX over 72gr of 7828ssc at about 3370fps or 130gr AB over 68gr of 7828ssc at about 3200fps . Both shoot sub moa at 300 yds and both are fairly hot so start lower. You'll love that rifle! I used the 130gr AB last season to take 2 antelope and a 240lb muley. All beyond 400 yds!!!

I have never seen a rifle, in real life, of that caliber. Have read about them but . . . So what blew your hair back about this caliber that you chose it?

Long

Reloder 25 all the way. I tried all the powders but 25 seemed to be he best!

Longwinters, 20 yrs ago I took my first deer with a 6.5 carcano, so I have always been a 6.5 fan. I currently hunt with a 35 whelen and wanted something flat shooting so if I ever draw an eastern oregon antelope tag. I like the odd cartridges. A 25-06,270 or 7 mag is to common. when I saw remington had a special run of the cdl, I knew it would be a rifle that would be a good one with the 26" barrel, plaus not everyone on the block has one. I guess I'm a rifle looney

J300um- thanks for the data. I was looking at 7828 it looks like it does pretty good in the 264. What kind of rifle do U have? What bullets do U like and what game have you taken.

POP- thanks, what kind of velocity are U getting. I am having trouble finding data with the newer powders like r25. Whats the start load and max load.- What bullets do U like? what game have U taken w/ 264

thanks again guys

My favorite load was with the 125 Nosler Partition with 67 gr of RL 25 (safe in my gun). This gave me 3350 fps from my 264 Super grade and .55" at 100 yards. This goat was harvested at 501 yards.

Mine is a model 70 sporter. Unfortunately it only has a 24" bbl. It really likes the 130gr AB's. I've loaded up to 3400 fps with them before showing excessive pressures but they really settled in at about 3200. I've killed several deer and antelope with it beyond 400yds. I also have a buddy that uses his for everything up to and including elk. They had a bad reputation for burnin up barrels but I feel that they are no worse than any other magnum. I got mine 14 yrs ago for my 12th b-day and she still drives tacs at 300yds!

I have killed over a hundred deer with .264 Win Mags. I use it as my rifle of choice for the huge bean fields we shoot on depradation permits. I have used sevral rifles but the .264 just flat out shoots flatter than anything else I have tried. Most of my shots are beyond 300 yards and in truth most are past 400 yards. RogueRiver-I pm'd some loads and will get the rest to you later. I know you will love your new toy. reflex264

Shot these 3 deer in about 2 minutes while crop sniping with the .264

result of one of the old 120gr solid base ballistic tips. Broke both legs, split the ribs in half which can be seen and blew the meat and hide off. The new 120grs behave much better.

Stick with 140 gr. partitions or x bullets in that .264 for better long range accuracy and penetration. You will love the round my son has one on the way also.

I assume they are the explosive ones. back when they came in 100 per box.

I hit a mule deer in the spine with a 35 whelen 225BT and the exit hole looked very smilar. in fact 2 veritibate were missing. worst drag I ever had the deer kept twisting. The last time I used BT for hunting. I now use rn 200 grn cl for deer and 250 parts for elk and bear, very little meat damage.

Yep. Little bombs. New ones are much better. I am super impressed with the AccuBond 130gr. Hangs together nearly as good as a partiton. reflex264
