I know I said I wasn't buying any Remingtons for a while...

Well BK was looking for a vintage good quality Leupy to put on my old 300 Savage Model 99 rifle, it belonged to my Grandfather. Also, thought you were looking for a peep sight for yours. Would you entertain an offer of a trade plus cash of the Williams Peep Sight for a Savage 99 plus some cash for that old Leupold 4x of yours?

I gotta tell you, that scope is kinda dark, and some scratched up, but I would be interested in a trade of some sort. Sorry I haven't gotten back to you on the peep sight, but the 99 is at my parent's house and I haven't felt like moving my dad's truck to get to the safe. I'll get to it this week.

Well it is a leupy I could always just mail it in to have it serviced, I live here in Bend. And I dont mind the scratched up look, it would go good with the rifle that way! Going to send you a PM.

Nice rifle! I got a .300 H&H up and running a year ago. My Remington is a little older model though than your 721.

Remington built 1917 that I picked up for $99 + tax. Pretty much the same thing as the M30.

Nah, I just work in the PRC, my actual home is in Oregon.

If I can get them to shoot, I'll probably load Partitions in 180 or 200 gr. weights. Not above trying a lighter e-Tip, though. But I have other .30 calibers for lighter bullets... .300 Savage, '06, .300 Wizzum.
I use H4831sc powder and CCI 250 primer. 68.0grs. for a 180gr. bullet and 66.0grs. for the 200gr. bullet. Works realy well in my 721 300 H&H.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I believe I have some of the non-SC H4831 left.

I woke up early today (first day home) so I thought I'd give the old girl a good bore cleaning. I used this stuff

http://www.cabelas.com/solvents-lubes-b ... 82-1.shtml

as it has always worked pretty well for me, and I somehow manage to be able to keep it out of the action. I foamed up the bore, then let is sit while I went on to waste a decapping pin trying to size some (unknown to me) Berdan primed .308 brass. Surprisingly, it showed very little copper fouling (just the slightest suggestion of blue on the patches), and just a hint of powder residue. Somebody took pretty good care of it!
