That's why you can't afford another scope for the .378.

So it seems your addiction has moved from Weatherby's to Sako's.

His addiction  now that is it  addiction  plain and simple. Now I thought I had it bad, but I think it is possible that you are making me feel normal again FOTIS

Oh, great rifle and cartridge there my friend. :)

My addictions has always been Bees sakos and Ruger #1's. They just shift time to time.

They do not make the 75's anymore so I had to get it.

As for the 378 scope issue, I just can not see it wearing a $2k 30 ounce scope. That is where the problem lies.
I would rather sell it.

Maybe a sightron S3? But that is another thread!

They are nice and light and shoot better than they should. I just doubled up on T3 lights. 300wsm and 270wsm. They are on their way.

Great catch, Fotis. Sakos can be quite gratifying for the confirmed shoot-aholic.

I don't own a Nightforce either Fotis. I think they are probably worth the money but I can build a rifle with a Leupold for less than a Nightforce alone. Not only that but why deal with the additional weight unless you have to. I don't really need one so I've never bought one. I've had friends with them though and they are nice albeit bulky and heavy.

If I was you I'd try a Sightron. I had a couple friends with them on .358STA's and they held up perfectly.

I was at the range with a fellow shooting a 30-378 this afternoon. He had topped it with a Nikko Sterling! Of course, he had only put twenty rounds through it so far. On the other hand, the reason I was conscious of the scope was that his groups were growing as he shot. He assured me that he was not flinching, and I commented on his scope.

I've heard a lot of positive on the Sightron scopes, though I've never used one. Were they more commonly available to me, I would no doubt try them on one of my rifles. I'll watch for your assessment should you pick it up.

Sightron SIII's have a good reputation for build and optics. They are Japanese and are solid design.

Congratulations on the Sako. I have owned a few over the years and think very highly of them, including the Model 85 which I presently own.

Congrats on that Sako Fotis. That 300 RUM is a killer cartridge for sure.

Looking forward to seeing what you go to for optics as well.. It is like reading a never ending book watching your rifle cycles! Love it.

Might be worth a call to Sightron to run the plan past them too.

Fotis,

Great rifle. Lucky I didnt find it first! I own the same rifle in 300WM and 338WM. I also own a Finnlight 85 in 300WSM. All of my Sakos are very accurate and actions are so smooth. I love them dearly. Brian

I thought I was the only one waiting for Fotis leftovers.

SWEET COLLECTION.

Me I love my Sako m75 rifles too!

m75ss 300WM, 243, 22-250, recently 270WSM
m75 Grewolf 300WSM, 338-06 Ackley Improved
2 in Tikka T3 LS 270WSM (my wife took over the first back in 2005 so I bought another for me!)

I seen a m75ss 7mmSTW I was looking at and a 375HH and 260REM also just to add into the collection. We wil see...the 260 might be good choice for my boys...one can use the 243 the other the 260 for time being.
