Same here Jake! I am thinking that Savage might be just the ticket..

I love that savage 111 LR Hunter I have! Just tried some 300 grain Berger hybrid bullets.
At 2815 fps and great accuracy. I hope I can get that kind of speed out of these 300 ab when they are out

That's like a 35 Whelen with 250's and it will shoot flatter than that, and maintain more energy!

Your right there buddy. The 338 starts to really pull ahead with the heavier bullets. I have an excellent load using the 275 Speer at 2650. Pretty high BC (.446) and they hold accuracy really well out to 400. I imagine they would do okay further out, just haven't had a chance to mess with em.

Got some 180AB's today and 225's for my 338. Those 180's are kinda stubby and short but those 225's look great. Need to acquire some 250's too just to see what they will do, maybe 2550-2600 but I think I will end up staying with the 225's. My best guess is I can scoot one at 2700-2750 so that will be plenty fast and be a hammer. The 180's are going to be for play and fireforming.

The 250 ABs shoot really well in my 338. Pretty sure they will go West with me this year.
