My McMillan is finally on it's way! I'm so pumped! My .300 Win Mag just might be worth a darn without that sad excuse for a tupperware stock.

How much torque on the action of a remington 700?

I ordered the machined in pillars, I wont bed it until I shoot out this barrel and get a sendero contour on it.

ldg397, I ordered it on 1 Nov 2012. Got the shipping notification on Monday. So about four and a half months to my door. I was contemplating getting another one and they said their lead time right now is five months. I opted to order a CMP Garand instead.

It came in today and boy is it an awesome stock.

Here's the rifle. Remington 700 XCRII .300 Win Mag topped with a vortex viper 6.5-20x44. The stock is a McMillan HTG, adjustable cheek piece, adjustable length of pull, flush cup mounts and a bipod stud.

Nice stock. That design goes way back, though I see yours has been updated with some of the newer bells & whistles. Pretty cool looking rifle!

Well, I put 50 rounds downrange. Would it make me less of a man to put a brake on this thing?

Here's the best group, 3 shots off of a bipod, 190 grain Custom Competition, 73.5 grains of RL-22, 3.340 OAL.

If I glass bed the receiver now, would I be able to remove it when it comes time for a rebarrel?

Why wouldn't you?

If you get any bedding material forward of the recoil lug a different barrel may not drop in but the action will.
