I'm thinking 6.5 Creedmoor or 6.5x47L. 129 or 142 ABLR. It is a Remington Varmint contour.

I am not sure which way to go between 6.5 Creedmoor and 6.5x47L. Does the small rifle primer concern you at all for hunting in cold weather? The small primer may be allow a little more accuracy potential and the Lapua brass is tough to beat. The two cartridges are quite similar otherwise.

I have a Lapua with the exact same barrel brand, twist, and bore/groove. Mine is a Sendero contour 26" long. I have another in 6mm 8 twist light palma to make a 6x47 Lapua to go with its big brother. I would do a Lapua for the brass if nothing else.

Both are good but tough to beat 6.5x47. My buddy just built one and its rediculously accurate

I would have whole heartedly agreed had I not seen how damn accurate my buddies 6.5x47 is!! You have to hAnd it to lapua when it comes to excellent components! A

That's the twin to mine! Mine is at LRI being turned into a 6.5 Creed. I'll have it back in a month.
I'd do a 6.5 Creedmoor or a 26Nosler or a 264Win or a 6.5AAR or a 6.5x 280AI or 260Rem or a ..................

Thanks for all the suggestions. Leaning slightly toward 6.5x47. I already have a Creedmoor in a Savage 10 Predator Max-1. So the Lapua Would something different.

This is what my 6.5x47L did this morning with 41grs of IMR4350 and a 123 Amax. If I could put all five into one hole like the other 4 it would be in the .1's. Not bad for a action that was only faced and had the lugs lapped.

That's awesome Nathan. Great shooting and yup, those little Lapua's are really attractive.

Brian's little 6x47 Lapua has been excellent, from the get go.

Very impressive, Nathan. That has to be a source of genuine joy for you.

It's the only load I had left from the first time I shot the gun. I took it back out with me today to try and get the Leupold 6.5x20 in focus and I was pretty successful.

I have all the parts for a 6x47L too Scotty. I just need to find the time to put it together. It's another Bartlein barrel too.

Thanks Mike. It's pretty satisfying to build your own and have them perform like that.

The 6x47 in a svelte little bolt gun would be idea of a great coyote rifle.

Either a 6x47 or 6.5x47 would make a excellent light kids gun as well. The recoil in a gun like mine with a brake on it is almost non-existent. I bet it's like a 223 sporter gun at most. I can't wait to run a supressor on mine.

Id go 6.5x47 Lapua, to avoid having to convert lapua brass to creedmoor now that I've done it. Although, my savage m10 hunter max in an MDT tac21 chassis is nailing awesome groups while fire forming the converted .308 lapua cases using a reduced load. I want another 6.5 for hunting- it will be Lapua.
