Leaving for Texas in the AM

My buddy Frank and I is leaving for Texas in the morning. We will be hunting pig and whitetail deer. Never hunted whitetail. It will be first for Frank and I...so this will be fun.

Dr Mike,
It will be in a private ranch near Paducah, Texas. It's mighty cold out there right now for us warm blooded Californian. Norma Jean and the 140 Berger will finally see some action.

I spent several summers not far from there in my early days. It should be great country to hunt. You are correct that it can be cool, however.

The 6.5 were blooded for the first time this afternoon. It was a very difficult 603 yards shot on a 6 pointer but the rifle did good,,,as it should. I'll post picture later and give you guys all the details. I need to get some sleep. More hunting coming up.

best of Luck, my place is about 4 hours from there. Weather is between 30 and 58, not bad at all. and it should get up to around 80 next week. Better check the long range forecast.
