Leupold offers the CDS (Custom Dialing System) in selected models of the VX-3 series of scopes.
I am thinking of getting a VX-3 3.5-10x40mm CDS for my 280 AI.
Anybody used the CDS?

Mike,

Let me know how it works out.
I think the VX-3 3.5-10x40mm CDS sitting on top of my 280 AI will make for a slick antelope/ deer rig.

Jim,

What I've seen of the CDS, I'm sold. Mine will come from the custom shop, so I'm a few weeks away. However, I agree with you that the 3.5-10 X 40 CDS atop the 280 AI will be a fantastic rig. It would make a good rig for elk and moose loaded with 160 grain ABs.

They work just like the picture. They are worth every penny.

Dr. Mike is correct, they are the best scope covers ever! Nice and quiet and they do lie flat up on top of the scope. Well worth the few bucks extra. I tried to get some for my 6x42mm, but it's an older 6x and they don't make them for it. The Butler Creek covers are okay, but they aren't LEUPOLD!

Here's my feaux CDS... Leupold Mark AR 3-9x40.... I simply put yardage stickers on the 1/2" click turret as I shot it out to 800. The system is about at fool proof as it gets... and the half inch clicks are sweet. Only thing I'd add if I were going custom shop... would be windage dots of some sort.

Turret is set up for my .25-06 running 85 NBTs at 3550 (55.5 RE17)... not fur friendly...
