Gentlemen, I have a colt sauer in 25-06 it has a 24" barrel. I a'm looking for a load for this gun. I want to shoot 85 noslers out of it. The rifle will be used mostly for chucks. I have a 6 x 18 leupold target scope on it, and want it for long range. Thanx in advance for any and all info.

IMR 4350 would be a good powder. I have found 52 grs to be very accurate and average 3350 fps from my 26" tube. You can work up to 54 grs.

Welcome to the forum.

If you are shooting long range, you might also want to consider the 100 gr BT for its higher BC rating. You will get less wind drift.

IMR4350 is a good choice but don't overlook RL 19 for the 85 gr BT.
For the 100 gr BT, IMR4350, IMR4831, RL19, RL22 and RL25 would work.

I used to shoot them. But now 52grs of IMR 4350 and a 100gr Matchking gives me explosive results on p. dogs and badgers and coyotes. Plus my best group to date is .134 center to center. In an old savage tactical. To bad they only make that gun in 308 now

the load is good another with that bullet that is just as good is 50grs. of H4350. Both loads show a little pressure at the primer. But no worse than the 100gr. core loct load from Rem.
