M48 Custom Sporter...refinish options?

After winding down a hard hunting season, I was cleaning up my rifle to put it away for the winter and noticed that there are several areas on my rifle with rubbed paint or chips in the cerakote. I don't abuse the gun but I don't baby it either- I hunt in the mountains so a bit of wear and tear is expected after five years.

Does anyone have any ideas on refinishing the rifle or a good company that does it? Maybe a Vais camo job on the stock...hmmm.

I'm not overly sentimental about such stuff but I would like to get the rifle looking sharp again since I plan on hunting with it a long, long time.

I would stay as normal color. This is my opinion and if you liked the original look stay with the same.

i have the same issue, i like the gun alot, however i found my pack rubbed the finish off the stock on the cheek pad, on the first day. I found the barrel finish a little weak as well and has a few rub through spots. However the rifle made a trip from my house to the yukon, my horse fell into three muskeg holes and ran into countless trees. up and down mountains.... and when i got back to my home range that gun still shot in the exact same spot... that is all a guy can ask for... nwt

Can you put a pic of the rifle up? Just wondering what it looks like now. I think a little "beat up" looks kinda classy on a hunting rifle! Scotty

And as I understand it, Nwt is getting his stock taken care of by the folks at Nosler. It seems that I am only reading of great CS by them!

Must be the reason why I haven't pulled the trigger (pun intended) yet on another rifle manifacturer, scrapin' the new-toy-fund piggy bank clean!!

I was also contacted by Shawn and the folks at the factory will redo it when I get some time to send it in.

I've got a last chance moose tag that's worth holding off for...now if the river will just freeze over!

cutomer service has been great so far, all contact with the staff has been very professional. I imagine it will continue.
thanks nosler.
