Well, some of us are fortunate enough to have a Marlin 1895 45-70 and there are a few out there that are in need of one.
Lets showcase what we have to help these fellas out in getting a Marlin 1895.

I have the 1895 Guide in 45-70 with a Leupold VX-3 1.75-6x32mm scope.

What a great thread Jim! I know there are some folks who shall remain unamed that REALLY need an 1895 for their collections!

I am running a 2x7 Leupold SABR reticle in the XS mount with Leupold QRW rings! It is awesome! Scotty

I think i know who Jim and Scotty are talking about  Thanks guys! I think somebody's wife will hate both of you very soon!

BK, I wasn't aware you were devoid of the coolest levergun built!

Bryan, your Wife will forgive you when you give her exactly what she wants for Christmas! Scotty

Just one more rifle I've always wanted was Marlin 1895 in 45-70 but have yet to acquire. You people are BAD, REALLY BAD! :!: :!:

+1

6mm, it is a life changer! Nothing like chunking big pieces of buffalo slaying power downrange!

Bryan, you will have a blast with it! I promise. It is a whole nother kind of fun than shooting our bolt guns! Scotty

Just can't make my mind up on which model to get. The XLR stainless with 24" barrel or the 1895 with 22" barrel.

Get the XLR, you can always lop a few inches off the barrel if you don't like the length. Beside, it looks pretty sweet with SS and laminate. Heck, I don't think you can make a bad choice thougj, they are awesome in their own way. Scotty

Beretz,
I have unfortunately shot a couple of these 45-70's by Marlin, and they are so much fun to shoot! I also have got to shoot my buddies rolling block 45-70 he had our gunsmith build him. OH MY is all I can say! He killed a really nice 14" antelope buck at about 150 yards with it. That was so cool, just like old Buffalo hunters, almost!

I believe POP bought the rifle I was looking for. Too bad. It was probably the last one made. Can I show my Model 94s chambered in .356 Winchester?

Jim,

I have handled and shot Scotty's Guide Gun and it was just alittle short for what i like. Thats why i was looking at the 1895 22".

The mighty Model 94 chambered in 356.

Another of my Model 94s in 356.

And yet another couple of Scoped Model 94s in 356 (and a Browning in 358 and yet another Model 94 in 375 Win).

And the accuracy potential is definitely there (even if I can only barely get it on paper).

Yeah, I think Pop bought mine too, a Cowboy model.

Now, if I could just find another Marlin Cowboy in .38-55...
